ASL FILMS

Sprint Relay sponsored the WRONG GAME, a movie which was distributed during 2007. Response from the community nationally has been overwhelmingly positive. If you haven't seen it, you will be glad to know that we will continue to show it in different cities across the U.S. in 2008.

If you know of a local organization that would be interested in hosting an event to show the WRONG GAME in your area, we can work with you on planning it and possibly make it a fundraising opportunity for your organization. Contact any Sprint Relay representative in your area for more details.

If you would like to bring the WRONG GAME to your town, send an email to show@aslfilms.com.

DeafRead.com hosts Deaf Blog conference

On February 2nd, DeafRead hosted a second annual conference in northern California providing opportunities for people who maintain blogs and/or vlogs targeted at deaf and hard of hearing consumers.

Tayler Mayer, co-founder of DeafRead.com, says it is natural that with so many blogs around the world, there are deaf blogs too. "And you can find them on DeafRead.com", Mayer says.

Mayer and Jared Evans co-founded DeafRead in July 2006 as a centralized website with links to deaf blogs across the country. On Friday, October 15, now infamously known as "Black Friday", the day 133 "Unity for Gallaudet" protestors were arrested, the DeafRead server hit an all-time high of over 22,000 views in a single day.

"Last November, we entered into a partnership with Sprint Relay", Mayer explains, "With their support, not only were we able to build on DeafRead's efforts but also host this conference."

Over 100 people attended the conference, sponsored by Sprint Relay, to explore and share vlogging/blogging etiquette, personal blogging techniques and blogging legal rights. Awards were presented in sixteen categories which can be viewed at www.deafread.com/blogawards/2007/results.
